Our Story

The Bilingual Conservation Fair was created to address gaps in environmental education and engagement within Latino and underserved communities in Dane County. The event has three core goals that continue to shape its growth and impact: 1. Increase access to environmental education by creating a fully bilingual (Spanish–English), culturally relevant, and family-friendly space where community members can learn about environmental issues such as water quality, air pollution, climate change, and conservation. 2. Strengthen community connections and collaboration by bringing together approximately 30 local environmental organizations, educators, and community groups each year to share resources, hands-on activities, and pathways for long-term involvement. 3. Celebrate culture while advancing environmental justice by integrating music, dance, food, and art into the event, creating an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere that encourages participation across generations and empowers families to take meaningful environmental action beyond the event.
